Why is the TDS value of water so important?

ZeroWater started in the United States. Not all drinking water is drinkable there so there is a great need for good water filters. Such a filter has the purpose to make the water as pure as possible, but what does the name Zero in ZeroWater actually mean?

Unfiltered water contains many undissolved substances, the so-called dissolved solids. These substances consist of organic and inorganic particles. Organic substances come from everything that lives, such as animals and plants. Inorganic substances are particles that you will find in things that do not live. For example sand and stone. The more undissolved substances in water, the dirtier and less drinkable the water will be. The total number of undissolved substances is also called TDS (total dissolved solids). A TDS meter measures how many particles per million (ppm) are undissolved.

Drinking water in the Netherlands has a TDS value that ranges between 100 and 250 which in principle is not harmful to your health. Spa Blauw reaches 30 and water filtered by ZeroWater? Exactly this does no longer contain any undissolved substances. The TDS of water that has been passed through a ZeroWater filter is zero and therefore very clean.
